Ensuring Data Quality in Information Systems Management

Managing the quality of data within an organization is a challenging task. In order to ensure that an organization’s data is updated, complete, accurate, relevant, accessible, and presentable, various data quality management techniques have to be in place.

Choose a private and a public sector organization of your choice and analyze how to improve the quality of data in them. Create a two- to three-page report in Microsoft Word that does the following:

• Provides a brief introduction to the private and the public sector organizations you have chosen
• Defines data quality and its role within private and public sector organizations
• States the inherent problems with data quality within your chosen organizations
• Compares the similarities and differences in data quality in general and data quality problems between private sector and public sector organizations in particular
• Recommends the management techniques to improve data quality for both organizations
• Provide appropriate rationale and examples to support your answers
