DUE SUNDAY, MIDNIGHT ***ASSIGNMENT #3: BUSINESS ETHICS PROJECT

Develop a 7-10 page Powerpoint presentation on a case I have written to understand a dilemma facing an organization related to business ethics. The company should be real, but the case study is fictitious. Absolutely no plagerism or use of anything similar found in the book, online, etc. will be permitted. You should address the key challenges the organization faces, any ethical risks or challenges, and what the company did in managing those risks or challenges. This case requires external research on the company from professional sources such as The Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Forbes, Businessweek, etc. Do not use sites such as Wikepedia, blogs, and any other nonprofessional publication. ;

The case I’ve written and chosen is the following:

IKEA – Selling Your Privacy

IKEA has been selling personal information to third party vendors without consent of its customers.

Information discovered that Ikea was selling: names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, shopping habits, age, and gender.

I will discuss company values and responsibilities, what is at stake, benefits and risks involved, ethical problems that IKEA faces by selling personal information as well as the possible legal implications, and all corrective actions IKEA will take to rectify the situation for those involved.
